Remembered one more condition? Must the AI answer start over?

The missing condition shows up right after you hit send

You send "Put last quarter's sales by region into Excel," and the moment it's gone you remember: online sales should have been left out. A typical AI chat gives you two ways out. Wait for the answer to finish and ask again, or stop it midway and resend from scratch. Either way, one forgotten condition means asking for the whole job again. Data questions are where this happens most, because the conditions tend to come to mind one at a time.

In OwlAI, you don't have to stop. The input box stays open while the AI is working on its answer, so you type "Leave out online sales" and send it. The AI keeps going and folds your message into the work. It's the same as handing a task to a colleague and adding, "Oh, and one more thing."

Minutes of querying are not thrown away

The difference grows with the length of the job. A request that queries several tables and turns the results into an Excel file can take a few minutes. Restart it over one condition that came to mind along the way, and those minutes are gone and you pay for the same queries a second time.

While the AI is still querying data or looking things up, the input box shows "Anything to add?" Whatever you send then goes into the current work. Results from queries already finished are not thrown away; they are reused under the new condition. Online sales are taken out of the results already in hand, and if that is not enough, only the missing part is queried again. Because even the earlier queries are put to use under the new condition, the final answer reflects what you added.

Your message slips in between steps

The AI works in steps. It queries data, reads the results, and decides what to do next, over and over. What you add goes in between those steps. A query that has already started runs to the end, and at the next decision the AI looks again at everything gathered so far with the new condition in mind. That is when it decides whether to filter the earlier results to fit the condition or to run another query.

Until it is picked up, your added message appears separately in the conversation. If it hasn't been picked up yet, you can withdraw it with the cancel button beside it. You always know whether it was sent and whether it took effect.

Once the answer is being written, it becomes the next question

Things change once the AI has finished its research and started writing the answer. Bending an answer halfway through tends to leave one that doesn't hang together. So at this point the input box changes to "Anything to add? It is sent as a new question after this answer." What you send follows as a new question as soon as the current answer ends, and you don't have to type it again.

Stop only when the direction is wrong

If the AI is heading in completely the wrong direction, you can stop it with the stop button. Work that already ran before you stopped, such as a saved file or a change made in an external service, is not undone. If any such work happened, the screen shows "Some actions already ran."

If all you need is one more condition or a narrower scope, there is no reason to stop. Adding to the request is faster, and the work done so far stays. Next time a condition comes to mind during a long query, reach for the input box before the stop button.
